Bucky Halker

Bucky Halker

It all started at a very young age. At first it was about playing guitar and some local gigs. Like most teenagers of his time, he wanted to be John Lennon or Elvis Presley. Of course, at that age girls worked as an extra incentive. But he had talent and that shined through everything. Bucky Halker is a song writer and a guitarist. He has number of recording and touring experience to his credit. He is performing again for the fans at the Dickson Mounds Museum at Lewistown.

He talent is not limited to music. He has an excellent academic record. He got his BA in history. Later he finished his MA and PhD. He always continued his single performances with acoustic guitar. His first album came out in 1984. The name was A Sense of Place. After that eight more albums came out. He has songs in different genres. But he mainly performs country, blues and rock & roll. This native Wisconsin singer, who is currently living in Chicago, gets his inspiration from the experience he gets on the road. His great interest in American history and Midwest roots also have impact on his songs.
