Man Behind Bars
Randy DeJaynes, a former pastor and central Illinois teacher pleaded guilty to a single count of posession of child pornography. He was indicted March 2007 after police officials found a naked picture of DeJayne’s student exposing his genitals in his very own home computer. Investigators found DeJaynes gave a teenage boy snacks during study periods in his classroom at DeLand-Weldon High School and also provided him with a digital camera with the understanding the boy was to take a picture of his genitals and e-mail it to DeJaynes.
Judge James Coryell sentenced DeJaynes for single count and had him suffer two years of imprisonment.
The prosecutors have allegedly planned on dropping the charges accusing DeJaynes of molesting students at Deland-Weldon High School, where DeJaynes taught for years as an English professor. The small town is located about 25 miles northeast of Decatur.
Reports said that DeJaynes was also a former pastor at the Christ Lutheran Church of Decatur, Illinois.
